Politics and friends don't belong together. Unless you have lots of like-minded friends, or you have friends with whom you can have an intelligent discussion from opposing sides of the aisle without devolving into insults and petty fighting. (Oh wait, isn't that what Congress is supposed to do?)
But this election season, there's one candidate who deserves your vote. Frank Underwood. I mean, come on guys. He'll do anything for America. Just look at his campaign slogan! (SPOILERS AHEAD) Look at the vicious way he pushed Zoe in front of that Metro train. Look at how sneakily he tricked Peter Russo into getting drunk again, and then how cleanly he murdered him and made it look like suicide. LOOK AT ALL THE STALKING HE MADE DOUG DO!

As a rule, I try not to make New Year's Resolutions. I'm extremely hard on myself when I abandon them (I say when, not if, since I have yet to keep a resolution), and I think the practice of self-flagellation for not sticking 100% to a promise made on January 1 is the opposite of what resolutions are about. The idea is to change something for the better, to quit a bad habit, to give up an unhealthy practice, to improve your life in some way. So instead, I think we should view resolutions more as goals for ourselves for the year, things that are attainable (see: New Year's Resolutions Worth Keeping). It's that time again. That time of year when everyone picks a New Year's resolution, only to forget about it 2 weeks later. Gym memberships will skyrocket, delivery meals will appear on everyone's Instagram feed, and whole 30 recipes will take over Facebook....for maybe a month. Then gym regulars can delight in knowing that their overcrowded sanctuary will return to normal, and users can safely return to social media sites without fear of feeling inadequate when looking at meals.
Okay, to be fair, if you're Jewish like me, it's a little late to spread the word about the Hanukkah miracle. But the holiday season lasts all month, and just because you celebrate one holiday or another for religious reasons doesn't mean you can't spread holiday cheer all season long. Here are some last minute ways to get in on the holiday spirit!
